Located in the revitalized Midtown neighborhood of Houston, Texas, this restaurant is the second location of popular establishment Oporto. Responding to the authentic menu featuring Portuguese cuisine, tapas, and cocktails, the design creates a series of cozy spaces to inhabit as diners explore the diverse food and drink options. Dynamic patterned concrete tile and rich cedar windows on the exterior invite passersby into the restaurant, where they are greeted with warm, natural materials. Carrera marble, custom brass screens, clay floor tile, and walnut millwork all reference traditional European restaurants, but are freshly detailed to add a modern twist. Multiple seating types compliment the varied menu, allowing patrons to return to try different combinations of cuisine and dining experience.
