This creative office and retail building was the re-imaging of a unique old barn in the Bouldin neighborhood of Austin. The architecture emphasizes the relaxed spirit of the neighborhood, framing views of neighboring oak trees with simple details and un-adorned authentic materials. The original angled roof and trusses were salvaged and the red siding was modernized with large glass windows and warm gray brick. The siding pulls apart to form a screen wall to translucent panels beyond. The interior palette of steel, wood and concrete is intentionally left raw to compliment the exposed character of the former warehouse.
